For Arabella’s class I was lucky enough to get to prepare a game and craft. At Arabella’s school they are not allowed to have food during their class parties due to allergies. So her teacher still makes it fun by letting the room parents and other volunteers come up with class activities. Since everything was so uncertain this year about school being open or not (lucky for Arabella (and me!) K will remain in school. Because of this uncertainty I packed directions with both the craft and game just in case it became take home.
SPOOKY SPIDER GAME
MATERIALS
Pipe Cleaner
PlayDough
Dice
Ring Spiders
The object of the game is to roll the die until you are completely out of spiders. It helps kids recognize and count numbers and also helps with hand and eye coordination.
HOW TO PLAY: roll the die and add the corresponding amount of spiders to the pipe cleaner. Continue to roll until you are out of spiders. On your last turn you must get that number to add the spiders. EXAMPLE: If you only have 2 spiders left you must roll a 2.
Kids can time themselves and race their best score OR if you have more than one kid you can make each kid a game and let them race.
